Combined Physio-Biochemical and Transcriptome Analyses Illuminate the Resistance Response of Rice Priming with Decoyinine against Nilaparvata lugens

چکیده
The brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae), is a notorious pest in rice production. microbial secondary metabolite, decoyinine (DCY), produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus. Recent studies found that seed priming with DCY could enhance resistance to BPH and Laodelphax striatellus; however, the mechanism of enhancing insect remains unclear. Here, an integrated physio-biochemical transcriptome analysis was performed on after infestation. Defense-related enzymes activities such as catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), glutathione S transferase (GST), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), concentrations hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), callose, free amino acids were significantly increased than control plants Concentrations soluble sugars, sucrose, glucose higher treated infestation; concentration malondialdehyde (MDA) decreased In analysis, GO functional annotation KEGG pathway enriched defense response, transcription factors, metabolites, reactive oxygen species, cell wall organization these data also support results. qRT-PCR results further verified differential expressed genes related DCY-treated responding BPH. Meanwhile, it indicated might regulating WRKY factor genes. Our provide basis for exploring molecular response against infestation valuable resources pests.

The Transcription Factor OsWRKY45 Negatively Modulates the Resistance of Rice to the Brown Planthopper Nilaparvata lugens
WRKY transcription factors play a central role not only in plant growth and development but also in plant stress responses. However, the role of WRKY transcription factors in herbivore-induced plant defenses and their underlying mechanisms, especially in rice, remains largely unclear. Here, we cloned a rice WRKY gene OsWRKY45, whose expression was induced by mechanical wounding, by infestation ...
متن کاملTranscriptome Analysis of the Brown Planthopper Nilaparvata lugens
BACKGROUND The brown planthopper (BPH) Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) is one of the most serious insect pests of rice in Asia. However, little is known about the mechanisms responsible for the development, wing dimorphism and sex difference in this species. Genomic information for BPH is currently unavailable, and, therefore, transcriptome and expression profiling data for this species are needed as...
متن کاملGenetic mapping of the rice resistance-breaking gene of the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens.
Host plant resistance has been widely used for controlling the major rice pest brown planthopper (BPH, Nilaparvata lugens). However, adaptation of the wild BPH population to resistance limits the effective use of resistant rice varieties. Quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis was conducted to identify resistance-breaking genes against the anti-feeding mechanism mediated by the rice resistance...
متن کاملMolecular mapping and genetic analysis of a rice brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stål) resistance gene.
The brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens Stål, is a serious insect pest of rice (Oryza saliva L.). We have determined the chromosomal location of a BPH resistance gene in rice using SSR and RFLP techniques. A rice line 'B14', derived from the wild rice Oryza latifolia, showed high resistance to BPH. For tagging the resistance gene in 'B14X', an F2 population and a recombinant inbred (RI)...
متن کاملNutrient uptake of rice roots in response to infestation of Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (Homoptera: Delphacidae).
This study investigated the uptake of three macronutrients, including nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), by rice roots in response to different infestation levels of Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (Homoptera: Delphacidae). Hydroponics experiments were conducted on the rice variety 'Zhendao 2' (moderately resistant to Tryporyza incertulas, Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) and the variety 'Xiushu...
